D.R. Horton Ranked Number One on List of Top 10 Builders for 2008
“America’s Builder” Honored For Seventh Consecutive Year

Jacksonville, FL – May 15, 2009 – D.R. Horton is pleased to announce that Builder magazine has again named it as America’s top-ranking homebuilder for the seventh consecutive year. Taking the Number One spot on the publication’s Builder 100 survey, D.R. Horton edged out industry competition for the highest number of total homes closed in 2008.

To accurately assign ranks for the “Top 10 Builders for 2008,” the magazine assessed total calendar year closings, rather than making difficult side-by-side fiscal year comparisons, for the country’s biggest homebuilders. D.R. Horton closed 23,915 homes, retaining its previous Number One rank.

“In spite of these headwinds facing our industry, D.R. Horton is in a solid position to weather this downturn and be in a preeminent position to capitalize on the eventual housing recovery,” said D.R. Horton CEO Don Tomnitz, via a conference call with investors on February 3.
