The Florida Times-Union - The PARC Group/Nocatee
Nocatee master-developer The PARC Group is pleased to announce that it has officially named its highly anticipated signature water facility the Nocatee Splash Water Park. As the only resident amenity of its kind in Northeast Florida, the park is expected to become a premier community destination.
The Splash Water Park’s welcoming Entry Pavilion, with its soaring ceiling and arched entryway, leads to a grand coastal environment offering the very best in resort-style recreation. Here, residents and their guests can conveniently store belongings at a designated locker area before proceeding to Main Check-In. An outdoor pathway leads to a central flagpole, from where residents can decide upon the park’s many great aquatic activities.
“Over the past three years, we have worked together with industry experts to design and construct another great amenity for our residents and guests,” said Rick Ray, managing partner with The PARC Group. “We are very pleased with the final design and construction progress. At full build-out, the Nocatee Splash Water Park will be an interactive amenity that has something fun for every member of the family.”
Located within Nocatee’s Community Park, which also includes multi-purpose ball fields, concession areas, tennis courts and a dog park, the Nocatee Splash Water Park is slated for completion in December. Its grand opening is scheduled for spring 2010. For a preview, visitors to the Nocatee website (www.Nocatee.com) can take a “fly-through” virtual tour by clicking on the link for Parks & Recreation.
Situated on the border of Duval and St. Johns counties, Nocatee is emerging as Ponte Vedra’s most comprehensive mixed-use community. A closer look at the coastal new town and its features can be found within the Splash Water Park’s two-story Crosswater Hall clubhouse. The facility includes the first-floor Nocatee Welcome Center, as well as the top-floor Nocatee Room banquet facility and the Seabreeze Room conference space.
Perfect for sizeable special events and weddings, the Nocatee Room also features a handy catering kitchen. Alongside Crosswater Hall, the Splash Water Park’s primary event lawn provides a great open-air venue for event guests.
“Crosswater Hall is an impressive gathering place where Nocatee residents will be able to celebrate important occasions,” said Chris Pilinko, Nocatee project director. “Styled in Florida Classical architecture, and constructed with the finest materials and craftsmanship, Crosswater Hall is complimentary of our region’s rich architectural heritage.”
Adjacent to the clubhouse is The Fitness Club. Furnished with a full compliment of state-of-the-art cardio and strength-training equipment, the 5,000-square-foot facility also offers plenty of room for group exercise and personal fitness. It overlooks Splash Cove, a zero-entry, shallow-access pool designed for Nocatee’s little residents. This interactive sprayground is adorned with water cannons, overhead tipping buckets, small slides, a large sea buoy and a kayak rack. Splash Cove’s maximum depth is 18 inches. This family-friendly fun zone includes a furnished sun deck with shaded and open seating.
“We love Nocatee because of its sheer beauty and location. We also love the way the community is laid out with the Splash Water Park and Town Center practically in our backyard,” said Seth Movsovitz, resident of Coastal Oaks in Nocatee. “With four children under the age of 10, my wife and I know there will always be plenty of healthy activities in Nocatee. We are excited to be a part of this unique community.”
Next to the Splash Water Park’s central event lawn, The Cabana is a terrific gathering place in which to enjoy covered seating and a convenient summer kitchen. This outdoor space is available for private reservation, as it is just steps to the family lagoon and Rip Tide Slides.
Rip Tide Slides are the Splash Water Park’s signature high-speed thrill rides. Anchored by Northeast Florida’s tallest slide tower – 53 feet – these slides of differing heights offer exciting corkscrew turns, twists and slippery slopes for two very distinct ride experiences. For those who prefer to watch resident adventure seekers, both shaded and open seating is available on the Rip Tide Slides deck. Perfect for all ages, the slides are adjacent to the Lagoon pool.
Also great for kids of all ages, the Lazy Tides River offers 450 feet of aquatic relaxation. Residents and guests can enjoy the more leisurely pace of this slow-moving current while taking in scenery of tropical rock outcroppings and plant life, waterfalls and geysers. A rapid-tide whirlpool is tucked within an intimate side bay. Whether you want to socialize or simply enjoy some alone-time, the Lazy Tides River is thoughtfully designed as one-half pool deck and one-half secluded natural setting. Tubes are provided.
In addition to plenty of wholesome recreational opportunities, the Nocatee Splash Water Park includes many great “extras”. The Sun Deck offers refreshing concessions, covered and open-air seating and restroom facilities. Reminiscent of a Caribbean beach, the water park highlights a tropical sanded area with hammocks and plenty of majestic palms. Sports enthusiasts will enjoy play on two sand volleyball courts, and children will enjoy a separate playground. Not including the formal event lawn, Nocatee Splash Water Park also offers three conveniently located activity lawns.
“With continued progress on the Community Park, Splash Water Park and Town Center, our builders are experiencing an increase in homebuyer traffic and sales,” said Ray. “As a result, we have started development of Nocatee’s newest neighborhood, Kelly Pointe, which will offer 176 homesites for homes priced in the $200s.”
According to Ray, The PARC Group takes very seriously its commitment to designing a remarkable setting that fosters the best in family life, personal expression, business and career opportunities, neighborhood involvement and environmental stewardship.
Setting the benchmark for the live-work-play development model, Nocatee not only offers world-class recreation, but also an impressive collection of quality homes from some of Northeast Florida’s finest homebuilders. With something for everyone, neighborhood villages are marked by distinct character, gathering places and amenities. Communities include: Austin Park, Coastal Oaks, Riverwood, Tidewater and Willowcove.
